Shelf Hall Park was created from the grounds of a Victorian millowner’s residence. It is easy to find alongside the A6036 which runs through the centre of Shelf.
Facilities include formal gardens, a sports area, bowling, pitch and putt and tennis. The Calderdale Way passes alongside via Bridle Stile which also acts as a starting point for walks.
The views from the south side of the park over Coley and Norwood Green (and for miles beyond) are impressive.
Shelf Village Hall is next door and the village gala is held at the park on the first Saturday in July.
All in all, Shelf Hall Park is well worth exploring!
